The New Lords of The West DLC give you two new civs, Burgundies and Sicilians and 3 campaigns, Hautevilles (Sicilians), Grand Dukes (Burgundies) and Eduard Longshanks (English). The first DE DLC (you need to buy separately). There are about 2 to 4 at the moment and sometimes new challenges come out. SP Challenge Scenarios in which you match your performance with that of other players on a scoreboard. New Tool to watch Replays and Tournaments. Free 4k graphics for anyone who has a pc able to support them. As this is a 20 year old game, it uses only one processor at a time. The game is heavier than apparent, do not buy if your pc does not meet the requirements. If you want to play Multi Player, most of the bugs reported on the forum are about the MP. If you want to Play campaigns and Single Player, buy without thinking twice if your pc can handle it. There are so many improvements in quality of life, you even forget that you've lived without them. Monthly updates, including new maps, a new unit for Tartars (Flaming Camel) and allowed the Mongols to have the Steppe Lancer (previously only available to Tartars and Cumans), so who knows what else might come? Maybe even new scenarios, campaigns, units, civilizations, and technologies. Counter of how many units (villagers, trading carts, trading boats and fishing boats) are producing each resource, and a complete list of everything being produced or researched under the resource counter. Quality of Life improvements like Auto Re – Seeding for farms and fish traps. Each Civ is now represented by a historically correct Shield/Coat (I think) on the scoreboard inside matches and at the time of selecting the civs. Some of them are linked to events (and require an Xbox account), others don't. New game modes, including the new Battle Royale. New way to view maps before Skirmish matches similar to AOM map view. No Handicap (As there is in AOE II HD 2013 if I'm not mistaken). No Steam Workshop, in its place AOE II DE uses a Mod system within the game itself, so that those who bought the game on Steam and on Microsoft store have access to the same mods. DE new DLCs civs take a while to receive an AI equivalent to The Conquerors and AOE II HD (2013) AI. You can choose to play with the new DE AI or use the old AI's versions of The Conquerors and AOE II HD (2013). A new tutorial to teach basic principles of Multi Player, without removing William Walace Campaign Specific Ships Sails for each architectural set. New architectural set for Tartars and Cumans. Some civilizations switched to another architectural set, as for example Spanish and Byzantines who now use the same architectural set as the Portuguese and Italians, and Vietnamese who now use the architectural set used by Chinese and Japanese. Several of the Scenario Editor Items have a skin for each different architectural set, but not all. Incredible Destruction Graphics for Buildings. New Graphics, the difference between DE and HD is greater than the difference between the Original and HD. For example, El Cid facing Berbers instead of Saracens, Genghis Khan facing Magyars, Barbarossa facing Italians. All the old campaigns have been updated, so that the new civilizations are where they should be. 1 of the Forgotten scenarios (Kaesong), is not available in the DE version, maybe more i'm not sure. The vast majority of exaggerated RPG elements from all the campaigns of The Forgotten (mostly), African Kingdoms and Rise of The Rajas were removed and replaced, some campaigns like Bari and Alarico and some scenarios like Hofonglalás were practically made from scratch of so many changes that occurred. 4 Totally New Campaigns: Campaigns of the Bulgarians, Cumans and Tartars, the El Dorado campaign was replaced by a new Inca campaign. 4 New Civilizations: Bulgarians, Cumans, Tartars and Lithuanians. All DLCS are included: The Age of King (Original Version), The Conquerors (Original Version), The Forgotten (HD/2013 Version), African Kingdoms (HD Version/2013), Rise of The Rajas (HD Version/2013), The Last Khans (The New DLC of definitive edition).
